If you’re looking for a place where Christmas truly comes to life, let me introduce you to one of my favourite festive escapes: Lotherton at Christmastime. The Hall is dressed in all its seasonal sparkle, the grounds are transformed into a magical winter adventure, and every corner feels like it’s hiding a twinkling surprise just waiting to be found. It’s the kind of place where even adults can’t help but feel a bit enchanted.
As you wander the trails, you’ll stumble upon cosy craft spots, toasted marshmallows, and cheerful weekend magic shows in the Elf Village—perfect for keeping little ones entertained (and honestly, just as fun for grown-ups). And if meeting Santa and Mrs Claus is on your checklist, make sure to book early; these moments fill up fast for good reason.

The Lotherton Hall Christmas Trees!
The Christmas trees inside the house at Lotherton Hall are just perfect! Every single one is decorated so well that it instantly gets you into the festive spirit and makes you want to go home and redecorate your own tree to within an inch of its life.
Meet Santa and Mrs Clause at The Christmas Experience
Santa has help from Mrs Claus in the Elf Village. Whilst she’s manning the Gingerbread decorating activity, the kids can meet Santa too. They have taken up residence under the wishing tree. There are some lovely crafting stations with the elves, too.
The 12 Days Woodland Walk at Lotherton Hall Christmas Experience
The Lotherton 12 days of Christmas Walk has had an upgrade. It features some great interactive stops, as well as some fun facts along the way. The lighting takes your breath away. I would definitely recommend starting with this because if you leave it until the end of the evening, you might not finish.
Top Tip: pack your wellies, it can get a bit muddy. You can take your pushchairs on the walk, but it could get very muddy.
The Christmas Experience at Lotherton Hall has something for everyone. I recommend wearing warm clothes and wellie boots because places are also quite muddy. It takes at least 3 hours to see all the attractions and participate in all the activities, so give yourself plenty of time, or make a day of it.
How much are tickets to the Lotherton Hall Christmas Experience?
General Admission price is £12 for adults and £7.50 for children, but there are other costs involved if you want to meet Santa. Please see the booking page for more details.
