Well, the summer holidays have come and gone. We survived. Now that the girls are back at school it’s time for me to get back to blogging and all the other work from home stuff that I do. The weather yesterday and today is basically mirroring my mood. It’s dark, grey and a little cool. Before I let it all drag me down into the depths of despair, I wanted to check back on what we got up to over the summer with my August Instagram Round-up.

Here they are, the Top 5 most liked pictures from my Instagram from August 2018.

No. 5: Intentional Living – My Motivation

In August I decided to do a week of Intentional Living and so created the Intentional Living Challenge for people to follow me and join in with the challenge to live a more intentional life. You can check it out here. It’s not something that is only for that week. I’d love it if you wanted to join in my just picking up the challenge and doing it in your own time when you feel like it. If you tag me in the posts I will definitely do a shout-out for you.

This picture was one I posted for the Intentional Motivation day. These two drive me crazy! Insane! But they are what motivate me to be. To get up and parent. Every single day.

No. 4: 9 Years and Counting

August is a busy month for us. Not only is it the summer holidays, but it’s also my husband’s birthday and our anniversary. We celebrated 9 years of marriage this year. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that we have been together for over 12 years already, married for 9! And then there are other days … lol. But, he is my rock. My support. My love. Here’s to another 9!

No. 3: This is how we watch TV!

Well, not we … just her. This is just one of many positions she puts herself in whilst watching TV. I don’t know why. I don’t understand. This child here is capable of turning the entire house upside down and yet. There is only one of her. She’s a very special child – one that I don’t know if anyone will fully understand. But she is who she is, and we love her anyway.

Oh, apparently I used to watch TV like this too. But I don’t believe the stories!

No. 2: This Is Me

As I said, we celebrated our anniversary this month. Usually we have to haul the kids with us if we want to eat out. My 14-year-old bonus daughter is now living with us though so we decided to give her, her first baby-sitting job and recruit her and her friend to babysit the girls so we could go out.

Now, my husband is very supportive of me and my blogging, but he does get irritated when I want to take pictures of everything! On this night we went to the local Indian and I decided to keep our dinner to us, not broadcast it on social media. So when our meal came I did NOT take a picture of it for instagram. Instead I started eating.

When he asked me why I wasn’t taking a picture of the food I explained that I just wanted to be with him, not share our dinner with the world. So he took this one of me. It was so unexpected. The little things, the little understandings, the little efforts, are what make a marriage work. Thank you my love. x

No. 1: My Girls -I’m an InstaMama

This picture has the most likes of any picture I’ve ever taken on Instagram. BUT … it’s also the only picture I have ever paid to boost!

This picture was taken at Lotherton Hall. I love it. These two were playing the fool, but the timing was perfect. The split second between pulling tongues, shoving each other into the bushes, and full on World War 3!

Instagram Mom Life at it’s finest.

If you want to compare it with last month’s roundup, you can check that one out here.
