I’ve been nominated for the “Blogger Recognition Award”.

If you’ve not heard of it before, the Blogger Recognition Award is an award given by a fellow blogger who recognises your blog out of all the millions out there in the blogosphere as worthy of recognition. I think that makes it one of the really special awards out there.

Let me start by thanking the lovely Alana for nominating me for this award, and including me in a group of such other lovely bloggers. I love her blog, so please do check it out here: Burnished Chaos. It’s a family and lifestyle blog that is just so lovely and positive. I usually seek out Alana’s posts when choosing a post to comment on when we’re linked up to the same linky as they are so easy to read and enjoy.

This is actually the second time I’ve been nominated for this award. The first time was back in February, (Blogger Recognition Award)but my blog itself has become more popular since then so to receive it again is really special. Thanks Alana.

Right … on to the award.

How MomOfTwoLittleGirls Started

My blog started in August last year. I was starting to feel a little underwhelmed by my role as a mom and housewife with nothing much else going on. I have always wanted to write but didn’t deem myself ‘creative’ enough. I found out from my sister about how easy WordPress is to use and set up and thought, why not. My husband was happy for me to do it, and we made a pact that as long as I didn’t put my girls’ faces all over the internet, or name too many names, then all was good. It was slow going in the beginning, but I feel like I’m finally finding MY voice and I’m loving it.

My Advice To New Bloggers

Just start. You ‘voice’ and personal style will come. Don’t try to write like everyone else, you are not them, you are you, only you know how to be you. Readers can spot forced writing that lacks depth a mile away. Create a blog style of your own including logo, name, header, font, etc. Stick to it and try to create a signature look that people will instantly recognise you. There are some great free online resources for doing this, but I have found Canva to be the best.

Join linkys, and promote your blog posts on social media. Don’t go crazy though, pick a few and stick with those, this applies both to the linkys, and to the social media platforms. If you try to manage a presence on every social media platform out there, you will crash and burn. It’s impossible.

My Nominations
