As many of you might know, I’ve started taking my skincare routine more seriously now that I am 40. I might be a bit late to the party, but better late than never, as they say. When asked to review a pack of Review Collagen Premium Liquid Marine drink supplements, I jumped at the chance. The revive collagen drink is a collagen supplement I’ve been eyeing out for ages so keep reading to find out what I think of it.

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. I was sent the product to review and share my experience on my blog and social media. All thoughts, opinions and images are my own.

A few months ago, I started trying a marine collagen supplement. These were marine collagen in capsule form, and I was meant to take two capsules a day. You can get either marine collagen (from fish) or bovine collagen (from cows). Unfortunately, I didn’t really see the results so after a few weeks I started forgetting to take them, and well … they still sit in their box on my desk, gathering dust.

When I agreed to review the Revive Collagen drink supplement, I was sceptical. However, I’d already read that the drink supplement is better than the capsule supplement, so I was happy to give it a try.

What Was In The Box?

When the box arrived, I was immediately struck but how classy and beautiful the packaging was. A pretty dusky pink package arrived with the postage label on the actual pack (no wasted packaging). When you open the outer box, there are two smaller boxes inside with beautiful gold and detail and white lettering.

Each box slides open to reveal 14 sachets; each sachet contains 225g of liquid revive collagen.

What Does It Taste Like?

Now there’s no getting away from the fact that it’s made from fish collagen. However, don’t worry, it does not taste (or smell) like fish. You’re supposed to have one sachet per day. The ones I’ve been sent to try were citrus flavour. You can either mix it with some water and drink it like that, or do what I did and drink it straight from the easy tear-to-open sachet. It honestly doesn’t taste bad – a bit strong in flavour, but bearable, and after about ten days of it, you’re used to it.

How Does It Work?

As we age, our natural collagen levels deplete. Our skin loses elasticity and can become more prone to sagging and an increase in wrinkles. Revive Collagen Premium Liquid Marine Drink Supplement works by boosting the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid within the body. It also contains aloe vera and the aloe vera extract acts as an anti-inflammatory that helps to treat dry skin and acne.

Collagen is the main structural protein found in bones, muscles, skin, and tendons. Our bodies use the protein in our food to make collagen, but production slows as we get older. We start to lose collagen around the age of 18 – and after the age of 40, the loss is around 1% per year.

Here’s what Revive Collagen themselves say:

Drinking a sachet daily helps rebuild and restore your collagen levels, with over 8500 MG of Type 1 Hydrolysed Marine Collagen per serving. Our unique formula has been developed alongside some of the top UK laboratories and has been specifically developed to deliver superior results.

What Were The Results Of Me Using Revive Collagen Drink?

For the record, at the time of this trial, I am 40 years old.

After using Revive Collage Premium liquid supplement for about seven days, I started to see the results. My skin felt plumper and had a more healthy look to it. After about 14 days I started getting comments from other people about how great it looked too. Bonus, although not necessary as I could feel and see the difference for myself.

I’m all for ageing gracefully and applaud those who go about wearing no makeup to work or going out after the age of 40, really, I do. But I haven’t felt that I could get away with that for years now. Maybe to the grocery store or to do the school run, but not for work or going out and about.

This is mostly due to the uneven skin tone I have due to years of sun damage. But also because the older I’m getting the deeper the lines are getting – and I don’t mean the laugh lines around my eyes!). No, it’s definitely not my laugh lines. In fact, it’s the frown lines (thanks kids!) and the deepening lines around my mouth that bother me the most.

After using Revive Collagen for 2 weeks, I could see a marked improvement in the lines around my mouth in particular. I’m not suggesting they were any less deep, but the skin around it was less dry and more elastic, making the lines appear less severe. I feel more confident going out without makeup over the past few weeks, and that in itself has been great! See for yourself.
