It’s time for another Round-up of my top Instagram Pictures since the beginning of September. I feel like I’ve been really busy, but I also feel like I have very little to show for it. I guess it’s more mentally productive than anything else, isn’t that the life of a freelancer.

Anyway, let’s get this show on the road. On with my top 5 pictures from Instagram over the last 10 days.

No. 5 – I never let my girls grate the cheese, but the other night I thought that I should loosen up the reins a little and let them do it. I cut a chunk of cheese for each of them and let them do it, despite ALL my control freak instincts. They proceeded to use all the sides of the grater, ALL OF THEM! Which resulted in the cheese coming out in all different shapes and sizes and thickness. It was physically painful! I instantly got a headache from the sheer effort it took for me not to criticise their efforts, or throw an actual adult tantrum right there in the kitchen. I can only liken this potential explosion to how threenagers react when you give them the wrong colour cup, times it by 12, (3 x 12 = 36 – I’m nearly 36), and then you might understand the pain I was going through. Over cheese! Yes! I needed ALL the wine and am still waiting for my f*cking medal! Never let it be said that I don’t love my girls. I am an awesome mom!

No. 4 – This is a picture taken at my wedding of my bouquet. Our colour scheme was black and white with a dash of this vibrant red colour. The flowers are Gerbera, also known as the Transvaal Daisy.

No. 3 – I used this quote in one of my blog posts last week where I wrote a warning piece to all new moms about how your memories will fade so please, take the pictures, be in the pictures and write it down somewhere. You can read it here: Warning: Memories Fade

No. 2 – Last weekend I thought I was a rock star. What transpired was a two-day hang-over. That’s what happens when you don’t go out very often, you don’t get a chance to age gracefully and adjust to the lower limits you now have. Just another wonderful side-effect of parenting. Yay!

No. 1 – My girls. A rare photo of them (albeit from behind). They had a ‘fun hat day’ at school last week, and so instead of trying to be a crafty mom, I went and bought them each a ‘rainbow dash’ wig for R12.00 and a sparkly witch hat for R34.00 each. They loved them, and really did look very funny! haha.
